ENGR 4510-026 (AME 5763-002) Intro to Finite Elements

Spring Semester 1999 - (T-TH 9-10:15)

Kurt Gramoll, University of Oklahoma

A prototype program for teaching finite elements to Engineering Students.

This course is for Undergraduate Seniors and Master Degree students that want to learn finite element in order to solve practical engineering problems. The course will cover all the basic concepts behind finite without getting carried away with mathematical derivation. Over one third of the course will be devoted to using a major finite element program to solve actual problems. Other areas such as fluids and dynamics will also be examined in addition to the basic topics in structural mechanics. This course will assume that you have not had previously exposure to finite elements and that will probably not take another finite element course in the near future. We will not be doing programming.
